wohnen means to live or to reside. It is a regular weak verb (Partizip: gewohnt) that uses auxiliary haben in perfect tenses (ich habe gewohnt). Non-reflexive and inseparable. Commonly used with locations: wohnen in + Dative (ich wohne in Berlin) or wohnen bei + Dative when living with someone.

Er wohnte früher in Hamburg.
He used to live in Hamburg.
Sie hat lange in München gewohnt.
She lived in Munich for a long time.
Viele Studenten wohnen in Wohngemeinschaften.
