verdienen: to earn (money, income) or to deserve (merit). Regular weak verb; auxiliary haben; past participle 'verdient'. Non-reflexive and not separable. Use for earning wages ('Geld verdienen') and moral deservedness ('es verdient haben'). Imperative forms are regular.
