VOCABULARY.DETAILS.MNEMONICS
Imagine someone walking and then freezing in place — they 'stand still' (bleiben still).
Think 'stay-en-bly-ben' — 'stay' (stand) + 'bleiben' (remain).
VOCABULARY.DETAILS.NOTES
Compound of 'stehen' + 'bleiben'. In main clauses commonly used as 'bleibt stehen' (the second verb is conjugated and 'stehen' follows). Uses 'sein' in perfect tenses. Intransitive verb; passive forms are not applicable because the verb describes an intransitive change/state and usually has no patient for a true action passive.
