man = impersonal indefinite pronoun meaning 'one', 'people' or generic 'you'. Used for general statements (Man sagt, man muss). Only nominative is common; other cases are rare. Not reflexive; no gender. Use when expressing general truths; often replaced colloquially by du or wir.
