antworten: means 'to answer' or 'to reply'. Regular weak verb (hat geantwortet) using auxiliary haben. Not reflexive. It governs dative for a person (jemandem antworten) or 'auf' + accusative for a thing or question (auf etwas antworten). Imperative: antworte!/antwortet! Present participle: antwortend.
