Aktuell means 'current' or 'up-to-date'. It's an adjective (gradable): comparative 'aktueller', superlative 'am aktuellsten'. It is not a participle. Use for ongoing events or the latest information; antonyms include 'veraltet' or 'ehemalig'. Beware the false friend English 'actual' (means 'tatsächlich').
